I had the best time welcoming Bavaro’s Pizza to Sarasota a couple of weeks ago. Bavaro’s is located in a beautiful historical building in downtown Sarasota. This delicious Italian restaurant has indoor seating and a beautiful patio including a fireplace, comfortable seating and string lights making it the perfect place to eat, have drinks and hang out with friends.
The History
I am still blown away by how authentic and delicious the food was. The owner, Dan Bavaro, said that he has dedicated the last 13 years of his life to continuing the tradition of Neopolitan pizza. He even joked that it took him 9 years to put pepperoni on the menu at the other Bavaro’s locations because he didn’t want to Americanize the tradition. He did promise it is the best pepperoni you can find!
Food & Drink
I will be sharing pictures of everything I tried, but first, let me tell you about my favorites. Oh, wait! Everything was my favorite and the prices are amazing.
All jokes aside, I strongly suggest starting with an Aperol Spritz followed by the Bruschetta appetizer, getting the Margherita pizza and then finishing the meal with either the wood-fired dough with Nutella spread or the home-made Tiramisu and maybe adding a glass of red wine to go with that!
I hope that by now your mouth is watering and you are setting a date to go try out Bavaro’s for yourself because I know I will be returning soon!
Ciao!
